15 DAYS · 14 NIGHTS · FIVE STAYS

Experience a great deal.
And be glad to return.

A private guided walk in the morning. A free afternoon. And a hotel you will want to spend time in, too. That is how this journey idea begins.

Arrive at ease

Four nights in Tokyo. The arrival day stays free; the first guided walk follows after a night in the hotel.

Stay in the ryokan

Two nights in Hakone. That leaves a whole day for a bath, an outing and a long dinner.

Go your own way

Private guided walks to get you started. In between, time for the neighbourhoods, shops and cafés you discover yourself.

FROM EAST TO WEST

Your journey

01 / DAY 1–4 · FOUR NIGHTS

Tokyo.
Settle in first.

The city is big enough for many journeys. For this one, we begin with a private walk through Asakusa and Kappabashi. After that, your interests decide where to go next.

A room with a wide view, a good breakfast and free afternoons make for a pleasant start.

HOW WE PLANA private guided walk to get you started. A whole day without a fixed schedule.
View the daily itinerary
  1. DAY 01

    Arriving in Tokyo

After your flight, the first stop is the hotel. The rest of the day is free – to rest and for a first walk.

  2. DAY 02

    Asakusa with a private guide

Around four hours through Asakusa and Kappabashi: small shops, kitchen craft and time for questions. The afternoon is yours to shape.

  3. DAY 03

    Architecture, fashion or a museum

Meiji Shrine, Omotesando and Aoyama are one possible combination. We choose a focus together with you.

  4. DAY 04

A day without a fixed schedule

Back to your favourite neighbourhood, a long breakfast or the museum visit you have not yet made. This day is deliberately left open.

Hakone.
Time for the ryokan.

Arrive in the early afternoon, step into the warm water and have nothing more planned until dinner. That is why we allow two nights here.

The next morning suits an outing to the lake or a museum. After that, your ryokan awaits again.

WHAT MATTERS TO USWe discuss bath, beds and dinner in advance. The time spent in the house is part of the journey.

  1. DAY 05

    From Tokyo to the ryokan

In the morning you travel to Hakone. We plan your arrival so that there is time for your room, the bath and dinner.

Depending on the weather, you visit Lake Ashi or a museum. The afternoon belongs to the ryokan. Mount Fuji does not need to show itself for this day to succeed.

  1. DAY 07

    By Shinkansen to Kyoto

Via Odawara to Kyoto. Check in, get to know the surroundings and go out for a leisurely meal.

  2. DAY 08

    The lanes of Higashiyama

A private walk of around four to five hours leads to Kiyomizu-dera and through the old lanes. There is time for craft shops and breaks.

  3. DAY 09

Tenryu-ji, bamboo and a walk along the river. The afternoon is free. If you prefer Nara, we swap this day during planning.

  4. DAY 10

    Discovering Japanese tea in Uji

A tasting or a tea workshop and a walk along the river. For a visit to a tea farm in Wazuka, we plan a separate day trip instead.

04 / DAY 11–12 · TWO NIGHTS IN HIROSHIMA

Hiroshima.
And a day by the sea.

You take time for the Peace Memorial Park and the museum on the first afternoon. The next day you spend on Miyajima: by the water, at the shrine and on the paths up to Daisho-in.

You stay overnight in Hiroshima. If you would like to experience Miyajima in the evening and early morning, we change the overnight stays together with you.

After the train journey and a lunch break, you visit the Peace Memorial Park and the Peace Memorial Museum, with a guide on request. The evening stays quiet.

  2. DAY 12

    A day on Miyajima

Train and ferry take you to the island. Itsukushima Shrine, the waterfront paths and Daisho-in combine well. For Mount Misen, we adjust the rest of the day. Overnight in Hiroshima.

By Shinkansen to Osaka. After check-in there is time to rest and for your own discoveries.

Transfer to Kansai Airport. If you would prefer to fly home from Tokyo, we plan the return journey to Tokyo no later than the day before.

TAILORED TO YOU

What should define
your journey?

The route is a starting point. Travel dates, accommodation and experiences are then tailored to you.

Staying overnight on Miyajima +

For the evening and morning hours on the island, two nights on Miyajima can replace the two nights in Hiroshima. This changes the routes to the Peace Memorial Museum and to Osaka. With one additional travel day, one night in Hiroshima and two on Miyajima are also possible.

Rooms, meals and guiding +

Room category, beds, meals, admissions and the language of each guided walk are set out in the personal quote. Advice in English does not automatically mean that every guided walk takes place in English.

Travelling light +

We plan long distances with reserved train seats. We look into private transfers especially for your arrival and the ryokan. On the 15-day route, large luggage can be sent ahead from Tokyo to Kyoto and from Kyoto to Osaka. We agree the forwarding days and hotel acceptance beforehand.

How is the price calculated? +

This 15-day journey starts at €11,000 per person for two travellers sharing a double room, excluding international flights. Travel dates, room category and inclusions determine the final price. You receive a total price with additional options itemised separately. International flights and any services you have already booked yourself are discussed separately.
